Oh dear, maybe I have just given the Snagiteers an idea! Sorry! We should be grateful that "Editor Mode -> File -> Move to recycle bin" only affects the local snagit file currently selected, and not the file it was sourced from. This is extremely poor thinking, which, while still silly in older versions, at least used to warn you that you had 2 options, to "delete from library" or "delete everywhere (or similar words). There is NO EXCUSE for deleting a file that was not even edited, but just displayed by the Editor mode. I updated recently from a much earlier version to 2020.0.1, then to 2020.0.3 today, and had been wondering where my precious files were going, almost blaming dropbox for a while. Then Library delete should work.īetter still Snagit should clearly distinguish between "Remove from library" = purge only from library, Library "delete" = delete working copy AND original (whether edited or just displayed!!!!!), and "Library -> File -> Move to recycle bin" which is the same as the latter. Yes we need some sort of macro that can get Details, recombine the File name and Location strings, and copy an arbitrary file to that location, renaming it.
